Why 95% of People Fail in Business and How to Become the 5%

There are usually a few reasons why you are failing at your business, but this reason is the biggest one. If you can master this, you inevitably will arrive at success. This applies to you whether you are doing e-commerce, network marketing, or affiliate marketing. One of the biggest reasons is the lack of:

Consistency

This has to be the biggest or one of the biggest reasons you are not succeeding. You’ve heard the phrase that consistency is the key to success, right? So let’s talk about consistency.

How to be Consistent

It would be helpful to spell out the dictionary definition of consistency. The best definition I found out there is “steadfast adherence to the same principles, course, or form.” Basically, you never give up and you remain steadfast to processes without giving up. You have dream, you have a goal. Keep going until you get there!

But Is it enough to be consistent? Notice in the definition that it mentions principles, course, or form? So you find principles and a course that is proven to work and you need to follow them consistently. Sounds simple right? It really is, but lets delve a little deeper. Shall we?

Correct Consistency vs Incorrect Consistency

I don’t care how consistent you are with an activity. If it’s not effective, you will not be successful. So if you are following a form that doesn’t work, then it’s time to change course. This is why it’s helpful to have a mentor who has been there before and can show you the ropes. You learn the ropes, take action, and don’t stop! It really is that simple.

Now you might be saying to yourself that you’ve tried what your mentor has taught you, but you’re not seeing results. I’ve also been consistent and my bank account is still in the double digits. Why?

Are you Really Consistent?

You need to ask yourself the following question:

How long have I been working at this? 3 weeks? 6 months? 1 year? How long do I need to work at my affiliate marketing business before I see results? The time it takes to be successful varies from person to person. For some the process is natural and they make only take a few months. However for most people, it takes 2 to 5 years! It’s a process of growth that you need to go through.

Ask yourself the following:

How long have you stuck to business opportunities before giving up and saying it doesn’t work? Did you give it 5 years of solid consistency? Or did you give it 6 months of waivering effort? I find that most unsuccessful people answer with the latter.

Be Part of the 5% by Doing This

First, determine what if whatever business opportunity you are in is one that you are passionate about. If you don’t feel good about the opportunity or the products, then you need to find a business where you can be passionate, because passion drives consistency. Without passion, being consistent is like trying to push a Hummer up a hill with your bare hands.

Second, if your business opportunity is something you are passionate about or if you found such a business. Have a meeting with your mentor, this could be someone in your upline who is already making full time income from the business. Ask them to share what activities they did to build their business. Most likely there will be more than one, so take those that you can see yourself doing, that fit your personality and income budget.

Third, do those business building activities consistently for at least the next 5 years. Make small adjustments as you see fit. Keep an open mind to new ideas your mentor may discover and try those out too.

Remember, with persistence and consistency success will follow. There will be ups and downs on the road to success. The best way to keep positive is to be constantly reading success books or listening to success audio books or podcasts. Affirmations to yourself are helpful too. Keep going! Do not give up on your dreams! See you at the top!
